Have you ever rediscovered canned peaches, peppermints, and dark syrup dusted with cinnamon, talcum powder, cooked rhubarb, candied raisins, salt, leather, or perhaps a sea breeze in a rum or whiskey? No problem. In the Crossover Lounge at the North Entrance to InterTabac, NE.D02, Jens Tausch, Cigar & Spirits Consultant, will introduce you to the complex world of spirits in an entertaining way, pairing them with selected products and specially matched cigars.

Jens Tausch

For over three decades, Jens Tausch (born 1964) has been deeply passionate about the full spectrum of sensory perception. Starting with the analysis of perfume scents and a passion for cooking in his youth, he discovered the diversity of Scotch whisky at the age of 18. This sparked a deep fascination with high-quality products from the world of indulgence. An encounter with other premium spirits and cigars was inevitable. A few years later, he redefined the concept of “crossover” in relation to beverages and cigars and, as a freelance journalist, introduced this format for the first time in the German-speaking media landscape in the summer 2003 issue of the trade magazine European Cigar Cult Journal, now known as Cigar Journal.
In the 2000s, Jens Tausch served on the panel at Ian MacLeod Distillers Ltd. (Glengoyne, Tamdhu) that selected the strictly limited-edition “Cigar Malt” each year. In addition, Jens Tausch leads seminars and tastings throughout Germany on the topic of premium spirits and/or in conjunction with cigars. Since 2019, he has served as an independent key account manager for Ferrand Deutschland GmbH, overseeing the German tobacco retail sector. Together with a business partner, he is also the promoter and organizer of the Whisky & Tobacco Days gourmet fair in Hofheim/Taunus.
