Exhibitors congratulate InterTabac on its 45th edition
This year marks the 45th time that the industry has come together at InterTabac. Long-standing exhibitors have already sent their congratulations and memories of the anniversary. They had the following words for the organisers of the trade fair:
Guy Daniel Grobe, National Manager Food PHILIP MORRIS GmbH:
“Who would have thought in 2015 that we would be celebrating our most important brand, MARLBORO, at the PMG stand at InterTabac for the last time with only cigarettes? Also on display: an engraving machine to engrave high-quality MARLBORO lighters for visitors. And in 2016, everything was different! Our first appearance with the new IQOS tobacco heating device actually heralded a turnaround. The Philip Morris logo had disappeared, and the IQOS branding shone brightly above the stand. There were no more cigarettes at the stand, and our major competitors either smiled at us or eyed us suspiciously. Just under 10 years later, this ‘change of direction’ has more than paid off: IQOS is available in 95 countries, 23.2 million adult smokers worldwide have already switched completely to IQOS, and TEREA tobacco sticks are in second place behind MARLBORO. Who would have seriously expected that in 2015?”
Glenn Anthony John, Editor, TOBACCO ASIA magazine:
” InterTabac’s 45th anniversary comes at the height of its relevance and popularity for the tobacco and NGP industries. New programs, competitions, promotional opportunities are added regularly, solidifying InterTabac as the global industry’s only must-do annual event. Every year visitors and exhibitors leave InterTabac resoundingly in the ‚plus‘ column – meeting new customers, seeing old friends and doing business. They leave marking their calendar for next year’s event.”
