InterTabac shows international growth
The worldwide leading trade fair for tobacco goods and smoking accessories at the Dortmund Exhibition Centre has been the meeting place for numerous major players in the tobacco industry for the last 40 years. One thing has become very apparent: The trade fair is becoming increasingly international. An example of that is the long-term co-operation agreement concluded between the Dortmund Exhibition Centre and PROCIGAR – the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers.
PROCIGAR, the association of cigar manufacturers of the Dominican Republic and the worldwide largest exporter of premium cigars, annually presents the PROCIGAR Festival to which it invites importers, wholesalers, retailers, suppliers, employees of the tobacco industry and customers in order to honour the Dominican Republic as the cigar country and the largest exporter of premium cigars.
InterTabac will participate in the PROCIGAR Festival as a sponsor in the future. In return, PROCIGAR will present itself exclusively during the ‘GetTogether’ celebration evening at the InterTabac trade fair. “The co-operation between the trade fair organiser and PROCIGAR allows the worldwide largest trade fair for tobacco goods and smoking accessories the direct contact in one of the most important cigar manufacturing countries in the world: the Dominican Republic,” said Sabine Loos, CEO of Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH.
Hendrik Kelner, President of PROCIGAR also sees the co-operation as a great opportunity: “Our main objective is to promote and spread throughout the world the quality and consistency of the dominican cigar. We feel honoured to be an integral part of that great event. The alliance of PROCIGAR with InterTabac, which today is the largest and best trade show in the tobacco sector, is of exceptional importance to achieve our goal, which is a commitment by all our partners to the culture and tradition of our country as the world's cigar export leader”.
