InterTabac/InterSupply • Sept. 13, 2023

World's leading tobacco industry event in Dortmund to offer the best possible opportunities for business dialogue and cross-border networking

InterTabac and InterSupply – which are being held at Messe Dortmund exhibition centre this year between 14 and 16 September – are well known for their international credentials. As well as over 680 exhibitors from 60 countries showing new products and exciting innovations at the venue, not to mention a comprehensive supporting programme and the presence of superstars such as Mike Tyson, many tobacco producing countries will be sending delegations, and a host of domestic and international partners to Dortmund's 'twin shows' will be presenting their organisations at the venue. On the three days of the event, the focus will be on business dialogue and engaging face-to-face on key topics of interest.

Dortmund, 12 September 2023 – National and international: InterTabac, the world's largest trade show for tobacco products and smoking accessories, and InterSupply, the show focusing on the production of tobacco products, have been firm dates in the tobacco industry diary for many years now – and for good reason, as year after year they host the giants of the industry, interesting newcomers and trade visitors from the retail, manufacturing and service sectors. In addition to new products, exciting innovations and a comprehensive supporting programme, the twin shows always convey the big picture of all that is occupying minds in the industry as well as giving the opportunity to talk to the people involved, including official representatives of different nations and those representing the various associations.

Many countries with their own representations at the venue

Numerous countries will once again be present in Dortmund this year and will be actively involved in the shows. These include countries such as Honduras, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia and Cuba, all of which will be represented by their embassies. The Consulate General of Turkey and the Romanian Chamber of Foreign Trade will also be present at InterTabac and InterSupply. This underlines the role of the twin shows as a hub for political decisions and those who make them – because nowhere else in the world do trade visitors have such a comprehensive opportunity to talk to high-ranking representatives of many different nations and to exchange views on current topics and trends as well as the overall political and business frameworks for enabling the production and distribution of tobacco products and smoking accessories.

New and long-standing partners underline the importance of the twin shows

The importance of InterTabac and InterSupply is also seen in the wide range of partners and associations that are involved here and are going to help make this year's shows a huge success. They include the German Association of the Tobacco Industry and Next-Generation Products (BVTE), the German Cigarette Association (DZV), the Tobacco Section of the North Rhine Westphalia Retailers' Association, the German Smoking Tobacco Industry Association (VdR), the German Cigar Industry Association (BdZ), the German Federal Association of Tobacco Retailers (BTWE), the Independent European Vape Alliance (IEVA) and the German Shisha Tobacco Association (a.k.a. the 'Shisha Association'), the Alliance for Tobacco-Free Enjoyment (BfTG) and the German E-Cigarette Retailers' Association (VdeH) who will all be in attendance at the venue.

The Electronic Cigarette Professional Committee of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (ECCC) is also sending a delegation to InterTabac for the first time. The European Cigar Manufacturers' Association (ECMA), the Confédération Européene des Détaillants en Tabac (CEDT), the Cigar Association of America (CAA), the ERPA European Rolling Paper Association (ERPA), the European Smoking Tobacco Association (ESTA), the International Tobacco Growers' Association (ITGA) and the German Association of Tobacco Product Wholesalers and Vending Machine Installers (BDTA) will be attending. They all show that the Dortmund shows will once again be the 'one-stop shop' for the entire tobacco industry in 2023.

In addition, the contributions and input of all participants will ensure that InterTabac and InterSupply once again cover all relevant topics in the industry, shedding light on a host of current trends and ensuring that pressing questions are answered. True to this year's guiding motto 'Together for Tomorrow’, thoughts at the venue will also turn to the future, placing the spotlight – as in previous years – on topics which serve to strengthen and shape the industry in a spirit of partnership. Also contributing to this will be new international partners such as Chinese media partner 2FIRSTS and the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC) which will be complementing the large partner network this year.
